In 2025, JSC «CHERKASYOBLENERGO» continued its systematic efforts to modernize commercial electricity metering as part of its investment program. The main goal of these measures is to make the electricity supply more reliable and ensure that electricity metering is accurate and transparent for consumers.

The company focused its efforts on reducing technical electricity losses, implementing modern automated metering systems, and improving the quality of electricity supply in the region.

Over the course of the year, the utility installed nearly 11,000 SMART meters in the residential sector. Overall, the 2025 investment program for commercial metering has been 100 percent completed.

«Modern commercial metering means, first and foremost, fair and transparent billing between energy providers and consumers. SMART meters allow us to see the true picture of consumption and manage electricity effectively» noted Yuriy Kit, Deputy Director for Commercial and Technical Support at JSC «CHERKASYOBLENERGO».

According to him, the new meters are beneficial not only for the company but also for the consumers themselves.

«Thanks to SMART meters, people can choose rate zones, plan their consumption, and actually save money. This is another step toward the conscious and responsible use of electricity» emphasized Yuriy Kit.

The introduction of modern metering technology has already made it possible to reduce technical electricity losses and improve the overall reliability of the power grids.
